Roasted Orange, Vanilla, and Clove Juice in a “Beertail”

Oranges

I know your probably reading that title and wondering how good this actually is. Depending on who you are it probably doesn’t even sound appetizing. But give it a shot, the resulting mix is delicious.

Orange Moon
2 oz Roasted Orange Juice
1 oz Vodka
1 Dash of Angostura Bitters
1 Dash of Orange Bitters
8 oz Belgian White Ale (Chilled).
Combine all ingredients in a glass and give a gentle stir to combine.

Roasted Orange Juice
10 Large Oranges
1 Vanilla Bean Split
6 Cloves
4 Cups of Water
1 Cup of Sugar

  • Preheat the oven to 375. Juice 6 oranges and set the juice aside. Place the squeezed rinds in a medium pot with 3 cups of water and ½ cup of sugar. Place on medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low and allow to steep for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Slice the remaining 4 oranges into wedges and place in a baking pan with 1 cup of water. Sprinkle a ½ cup of sugar over the orange wedges and place the vanilla pod and the cloves in the pan. Roast for 20-25mins. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  • Once the roasted oranges has cooled, juice and discard the rinds. Combine the fresh orange juice with the roasted juice, and scrape the vanilla seeds into the juice.
